Nutrition for Young Children and Prepubescents

Your children learn their eating habits from their parents and exposure to food very early in life. It's a good idea to continue offering healthy choices in an effort to maintain healthy eating habits. Try to minimize or avoid low fiber, highly processed foods and foods containing sugar. In addition to the early introduction of vegetables, other ways to help your child make healthy choices are making healthy choices for your own meals, involving children in food shopping, meal planning, and meal preparation.
