Newborn and Toddler Stress Management

Yes, parents, even babies can be affected by stress and they do benefit (as do their parents) from a good nap. In the beginning, infants may sleep up to 22 hours out of the day. Over time, their pattern usually transition to a more defined day-night pattern consisting of 2-3 daytime naps and a longer period of sleep during the night. Other methods of relaxation for very young children include spending skin to skin time with a parent, rocking in a parent's arms, listening to soft music or a soothing song (your baby will nominate you for a Grammy), and enjoying an infant massage and baby yoga.
