Motor Vehicle Safety for Pre-Teens

By now, most children are big enough to sit in a seat belt properly. For a seat belt to fit properly, the lap belt must lie tightly across the upper thighs, not the stomach. The shoulder belt should fit snug across the shoulder and chest and not across the neck or face. Resist the temptation to put the shoulder belt behind your child and remember the back seat remains safer.
