Newborn and Toddler Movement

Moving or exercise has many healthy benefits at every age. "Movement" plays an important role in regulating the hormones involved with bone development, growth, brain function and the growth and function of all of our organs and muscles. It is never too early or too late to get moving! It is also important for children to see and participate with their parents having fun (not just on vacation).

As soon as you are able, it is a good idea to give your baby the opportunity to move all of her/his extremities and entire body in whatever way they can. Giving your baby time on his/her tummy each day is important for development of muscles, bones and establishing the connections between the brain and extremities.
